Tokushima Awaodori

Last week, I immersed myself again in Tokyo's Koenji Awaodori Festival. And by "immersed," I mean really immersed in it for 3 days in a row. It's not an easy task in the summer weather, and the weight of the camera equipment doesn't really help. It's partly my own fault since I chose to sacrifice my back and bring some pretty heavy lenses like the "bokeh master" Sigma 105mm 1.4 Art. No complaints on the quality side, though!

As many might know, the Awaodori dance originated in the Shikoku prefecture of Tokushima, and in the middle of August, Tokushima city becomes the stage for the largest Awaodori festival in Japan. This year a little part of me was there with other 9 photographers, in an exhibition organized by Awa Bank Ltd. and co-hosted by Sarugakusha Inc. in collaboration with Uzuki-ren.

A small consolation for my muscle pain after the weekend shooting haha!
