Kyushu in March

The purpose of my visit was to attend an exhibition for the Sardinian association, but after delivering my speech last Saturday, I made it a personal goal to witness the exquisite cherry blossoms in full bloom.

As I ventured through the region, I felt a sense of anticipation despite arriving a little too early for the blooming season. The weather proved to be uncooperative, and I had to endure two full days of rain. Nevertheless, my resolve to make the most of my time in Kyushu remained steadfast.

Despite the unfavorable conditions, I couldn't help but be captivated by the enchanting landscapes that enveloped me, especially in the Oita prefecture. The misty mountains and lush greenery were a sight to behold, and the rain only served to enhance the surreal atmosphere.

As the days went by, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment that I hadn't yet witnessed the full splendor of the cherry blossoms. But my disappointment was short-lived. Today, as I made my way back to Tokyo, I was left awestruck by the resplendent beauty of the cherry blossoms.

Kyushu presented me with its own set of challenges, but I will always hold dear the memories of my travels to this captivating region of Japan.

Although rain persisted during my return to Tokyo, the stunning full bloom of the sakura blossoms provided a remarkable contrast. A very nice welcome back.
