Blooming Suginami

Spring's here, and everyone's rushing to see the cherry blossoms bloom. But there's something special about finding those out-of-the-way places in Tokyo where you can admire the pink petals in peace, even in the rain.

Take Suginami, for example. Over 2,000 cherry blossom trees line the Zenpukuji River, creating a view that's downright stunning. It may not be as famous as other spots, but the beauty of the blossoms in Suginami is as unforgettable as more well-known places, even when they're soaking wet.

Sure, everyone's going to the popular cherry blossom destinations, but after living here for so long I tend to skip going to overcrowded areas. I like to discover hidden treasures by going around by bicycle and rarely do I come back home empty-handed. With the added beauty of the rain, these secret spots offer a unique and unforgettable experience for those seeking peace and quiet amidst the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

Down here a vertical panorama of this beautiful little know shrine a couple of minutes from Zenpukuji river.
