A long day

In Japan, a single day's journey can magically transport you across the annals of time. From modern skyscrapers to the serene tranquility of shrines, sacred deers, and kimonos, sometimes the two are intertwined and the contrast becomes harmony. Last Saturday I got reminded of all this, starting a long day from 21st century Tokyo and going back in time to the classic Nara and Kyoto. I finished my day in front of a Sado (茶道) tea ceremony master in the Higashiyama area of the old Japanese capital.
