Color mode mood

A little while ago, Sigma launched a campaign in Japan focusing on the color modes of their cameras, and it reminded me how much I love shooting in Teal and Orange mode. It's a bit intense, I know, but it's a style that really resonates with me. It’s almost like shooting in infrared—you step into a completely different world.

Shooting in this mode brings a certain quality to the most ordinary scenes. How the cool shadows and warm tones interact adds a lot to the visual depth. Especially in Tokyo’s narrow streets, where the mix of natural and artificial light creates this perfect contrast, every shot feels like a movie still.

What surprises me about this picture is how it clearly shows how smartphones dominate our lives. The two women dressed in traditional kimono are so focused on their phones, while the woman on the right is likely creating content for the same digital world they're engrossed in. It would be funny if they were actually looking at the feed of the influencer standing right next to them.
