Cold snowy streets

Winter is fading away leaving space for a new world of colorful flowers and sunny skies. Many areas in Japan experience way more snow than the capital during the cold months of the year. A small trip to Nagano and Gifu the last weekend brought me back to some of the street scenes I encountered during my trips along that region, in Takayama city.

The streets aren’t particularly lively it has to be said, but the small bars and restaurants do show warm scenes once you enter inside..

So much so that the for someone can be difficult to start the following day after all the “alcoholic warming up” of the night before.
