Cap d’Any

One of the longstanding traditions of New Year's Eve in Sardinia has always been the presence of celebrated Italian music artists performing in public squares to mark the transition into the new year. For me after a classic Italian dinner, it was time to head to Alghero for the Negramaro concert, which lit up the early hours of the year.

The concert was truly enjoyable, filled with energy and great music. However, there was a bittersweet undertone to the evening. It was disheartening to see the audience—instead of immersing themselves in the live musical experience—unanimously focused on pulling out their phones, eager to inform the virtual world that they were "there." But were they really there?

The morning was way calmer, with a great breakfast by the sea in front of one of my favourite views. Happy to say that I couldn’t refrain to get in the cold winter waters of Pineta Mugoni beach. A great start for my 2025.
