Kenzo Tange project came to completion in 1964, to replace the structure that was destroyed during the 2nd world war air raids bombing.

It’s not common for me to admire a modern architecture piece and feel so close to what I experience looking at an oeuvre from a classic Renaissance architect from the past millennia. Same kind of emotions, expressed in a different way. Tange sensei managed to bring together an occidental subject and the oriental culture and sensibility, resolving into a stunning piece of work.
