Awaodori coming back

Awa Odori, one of Japan's most captivating traditional dances, showcases faces lit with joy, fluid movements, and a perfect harmony between tradition and modernity. The dancers' energy and passion create a vibrant stage in itself, transforming the city’s streets into a living performance. This week marks Tokyo's biggest Awa Odori at Koenji, and I'll be there again, aiming to capture the wonderful atmosphere through my lens.

I just realized I've been shooting there for over 10 years! The dancers move in perfect sync, their expressions reflecting their deep love for this tradition. I’m especially looking forward to seeing the 編み笠 (amikasa, the women’s hat) swaying through my neighborhood once more.
